A darker song with more of a haunted baroque aesthetic I think contrasts the brightness of the first two tracks while maintaining energy. Poppy as hell, classic VW song, and keeps the energy flowing while continuing to establish the kind of bookish lyrics that add a lot of the personality to the band. Because it was my favorite opener and a single as well, I thought this was a good way to open it. A lot of my favorite songs by VW were left off of this because it'd be too lopsided towards MVOTC and not flow well at all. I tried to think about it for both Vampire Weekend fans but more so for people trying to get into them. I tried to make a best-of comp that'd properly show all the sides of VW, some of the hits, but also some of the deeper cuts because a lot of those got me into the band.
